Klesis Chamber Ensemble is an eccentric chamber music group with an unconventional
synergism created by the unique blend of instruments - violin, cello, piano and flute. Together,
the musicians deliver a unique combination of music that is wholly distinct through the
interweaving of individual musician’s color and style. The ultimate aim of the Klesis Chamber Ensemble is the beautiful
output produced by making music together is to support and enrich our community. Their
current project is focused on responding to the community needs,
such as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People Of Colors) and DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion
and Belonging). Through the works of culturally diverse composers, they would like to promote
awareness of equality and justice to lead to harmonization of various people groups.
Klesis Chamber Ensemble was formed in the winter of 2018 and had debuted in February of
2019 as part of the Chicago House Concert series. Following their debut, they performed at the
DePaul University as part of ‘Performathon’. In February of 2020, Klesis Chamber Ensemble
supported the Korean-American society by participating in the Rose Concert at the Korean Cultural
Center. A month later, prior to the lockdown due to Covid-19, they were able to present a full
recital program for the DePaul Community Music. Within the restrictive environment of Covid-19,
Klesis Chamber Ensemble had sympathized with the need of the locals suffering from isolation. In response,
the group had created an outdoor concert to comfort and encourage the residents of Lincolnshire through the power of music
in October, 2020. And in March, 2021, they had extended to reach out to the broader community by offering a
virtual recital successfully at the Brushwood Nature Center. Further, the live streaming concert in May,
2021 for the KCBS (Korean Christian Broadcasting System) became the one that made the
performance reach beyond the local community.

In Latin, “Klesis” denotes “calling” or “invitation to embrace the salvation of God.” As such, the
ultimate vision for Klesis Chamber Ensemble is to connect with and enrich our community,
closing the gap between performer and audience, by delivering easy listening of well-know
classical music but also complex music pieces that penetrate the depth of the hearts of
listeners.
